VITEX SYSTEMS EXPANDS LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH ADVANCED NEOTECH SYSTEMS

Offering Roll-To-Roll Equipment to Manufacture Barix™ Barrier Film

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 27, 2009
– Vitex Systems, Inc., a leading technology developer, licensor and
engineering service provider for thin-film encapsulation and moisture barrier films, today announced
that it has expanded its license agreement with Korea-based Advanced Neotech Systems (ANS),
granting ANS rights to develop and manufacture roll-to-roll coating equipment used in the production
of Barix™ Barrier Film.

“The expansion of our relationship with ANS enables us to ensure that customers have the equipment
they need to successfully commercialize products using our technology,” said Chyi-Shan Suen,
director of business development at Vitex, “We have seen strong demand for our Barix™ Barrier Film,
also known as Flexible Glass, particularly from companies in the photovoltaic industry. Several film
producing companies and thin-film photovoltaic customers are interested in moving to production and
need a source for the proper equipment. We have a long history with ANS and are confident in their
ability to serve these customers.”

Over the past year, Vitex has made excellent progress demonstrating the unique capabilities of its
Barix™ Barrier Film for encapsulation of thin-film photovoltaic cells. Multiple companies have been able
to verify that, when protected by Vitex’s Barix™ Barrier Film, their thin film photovoltaic (PV) cells
fabricated using either CIGS or CdTe can pass the damp heat test required by the IEC 61646
standard.

“Vitex’s Barix™ encapsulation is recognized as the best in the industry. Today, there are 11 tools in
the field utilizing Vitex’s thin-film encapsulation for applications in the display industry and other fields
that require a superior thin-film barrier,” said BK Chun, general manager, sales and marketing, ANS.
“We enjoy a fruitful relationship with Vitex. Our current customers are all very satisfied with the barrier
performance. We have also received a tremendous amount of interest from potential customers for
depositing the Barix™ barrier on plastic foil or directly on PV devices in a roll-to-roll format. With our
experience making the Barix™ encapsulation equipment and the resources to be injected by SNU
Precision after our merger last week, we believe that we are in an excellent position to serve this
emerging market.”

Vitex entered the first equipment license agreement with ANS in 2006, allowing ANS to make Barix™
encapsulation equipment, the Guardian™ System. ANS has successfully sold eight Guardian™ systems
to produce Vitex’s proprietary Barix™ technology, including: a pilot system being used by Samsung
SDI to make the world’s first foldable OLED and the thinnest OLED display that were shown at FPD
International 2008 in Yokohama; the first mass production system and the first Gen 2 (370mm x
470mm) system.

ANS was recently awarded the Excellence in Korea Information Display Award (KIDA) for its thin-film
encapsulation in October 2008 at the 8th International Meeting on Information Display (IMID).

About Vitex Systems
Vitex Systems, Inc., headquartered in San Jose, Calif., licenses a proprietary encapsulation solution,
Barix™, as well as deposition systems and next-generation flexible barrier substrates, that enable the
cost-effective production of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays that are lighter and thinner
than any other commercially available displays. Vitex's technology can also be used to address a wide
array of photovoltaic and optoelectronic applications. The company was incubated at Battelle, the
world's largest independent private non-profit research foundation, and was spun off as an
independent company.
