VITEX SYSTEMS APPOINTS CHYI-SHAN SUEN PRESIDENT AND COO
SAN JOSE, Calif., Apr. 07, 2009 – Vitex Systems, Inc., a leading technology developer, licensor and
engineering service provider for thin-film encapsulation and moisture barrier films, today announced that it has
appointed Chyi-Shan Suen President and Chief Operating Officer.
“Chyi-Shan has been instrumental in leading the business development efforts of Vitex for the past several
years. His efforts have led to Vitex’s thin-film encapsulation technology becoming the de facto standard in the
flexible display market and we have secured license agreements with major international film and chemical
producers. I am confident that his industry knowledge and business acumen will lead the company to the next
level,” said Jack Saltich, Chairman and CEO, Vitex Systems.
“Vitex has made great progress in the last few years, advancing its proprietary Barix™ barrier technology,
developing new applications, such as photovoltaic and thin-film batteries, and growing the customer pipeline.
We have eleven licensed tools at customer sites today, and continue to build on this success with strong
interest from multiple domestic and international firms,” said Suen.
“Our efforts have shifted from proving the technology to helping our customers enter mass production. With a
new, state-of-the-art R&D tool which we will be receiving in June, we will continue enhancing our processes,
developing new applications and strengthening our intellectual property. This is an exciting stage of growth for
Vitex, and I am pleased to take on this role,” Suen continued.
Suen, 36, joined Vitex in July 2002 as Assistant Product Manager and was promoted to Director of Sales and
Marketing in 2005 and Director of Business Development in 2008. Previously, he held engineering positions at
AG Associates and Steag RTP Systems, supervising customer application and process activities in Asia.
Suen holds a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from Tsing-Hua University in Taiwan, an M.S. in Material Science and
Engineering and an M.B.A. from University of California, Berkeley.
